My next trip….Venice, Italy
So after searching and searching and searching I finally found and bought a ticket to Venice. I didn’t know exactly where I wanted to go during my spring break, so I had been looking online forever. Looking on the internet for flights and hotels is not my favorite thing to do.

I’m really excited to go to Venice. I remember going to the Stone Arch Art Festival in Minneapolis. I saw an artist there that was selling these amazing photographs of his trip to Venice. The buildings and the colors were just amazing. I hope to see and have the opportunity to take some pictures like he did.
This trip I’m actually going to go by myself. I was inspired recently to travel solo after my roommate did the same when she went to Lisbon just recently. So I guess I’m still a bit nervous about traveling by myself, but I’m sure that all will go just fine.
I have found that traveling with someone else has its pros and cons. You get to experience new things, chat at dinners, explore the city and culture together when you have a traveling partner. Sometimes though I think when you are with someone else you have a little bit of a cultural “shield” on while you are in a foreign city. Things that might make you nervous or scared are diminished because you are with someone else. I had a time in Istanbul (which I think I talked about on this blog) where I was by myself for ½ of the day, and it was definitely a different yet rewarding experience. I hope to have a similar experience during my trip in Venice.
My trip is from April 2 to the 6th, so it should be fairly nice weather there and not so many tourists (I’m hoping so). I thought best to go there now than to go there during peak tourist season in the summer. Now even though I have been to the airports in Milan and Rome, I can finally say that I have been to Italy!
